BIOGRAPHY Scott Bess Bess is Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Goodwill Education Initiatives, Inc., which operates the Indianapolis Metropolitan High School and The Excel Center. Indianapolis Met is now in its sixth year of operation and has grown from 75 students in the first year to more than 350 students. With more than 100 graduates, Indianapolis Met has maintained a 95% college acceptance and attendance rate and is noted for one of the largest and most successful internship programs in the state of Indiana. The Excel Center, opening in the fall of 2010, is targeted at older youth who have been out of school. Bess has been a teacher and has worked in the Information Technology field for a Fortune 500 company and as an independent business owner. He lives in Danville, Indiana, with his wife, Robin, and four children. He has been on the School Board of Trustees in Danville for the past 12 years, serves on the Board of the Indianapolis Private Industry Council and was recently elected to serve as a board member of College Mentors for Kids.
